The AAU hosted the Karate Championships at Madison Square
Gardens, NY, on Sunday, May 18, 2008. Sensei Anthony Carrano took 1st place
in Black Belt forms, performing Kanku Sho. He also took 2nd place in sparring.
The match took place before the beginning of the opening game for the NY Liberty
Basketball game on the MSG floor. Congratulations to Sensei Carrano, the next
generation of great Hoteikan competitors.
Here are some pictures of the
event.
On Sunday, August 20,2007, Alex Olshansky took his
Shodan exam at the N.Y. Brooklyn Dojo. The test was administered by Shihan
Thomas Carrano. Alex was honored with the presence of Soke Claudio and Senior
Senseis Jay Hager and John Reddick in attendance. It was an all-day affair
and brought out the best in Alex. It has taken Alex 7 years to get to this
level, so we would like to congratulate him on a job well done, and welcome
him to the Hoteikan Yudansha ranks. Please enjoy some of the pictures
from his exam.
