Happy New Year System Members!
I hope the holidays were fun, enjoyable and rewarding. 2010 was a wonderful year for the Hoteikan System. 2011 however, promises to be even better! On tap so far for this year are the following events:
 
New York area:
A
) Atlantic City, N.J., Action Martial Arts Magazine "Hall of Honors" award recognition banquet is set for January and the following Hoteikan System members are receiving awards:
 
1. Shodai Soke Emilio Claudio - Ambassador of the Martial Arts award
2. Shihan Thomas Carrano - 25 year recognition award
3. Shihan Hector Morales - 25 year recognition award
 
All well deserved. Congratulations!
 
B) West Point Judo: After a very successful first half, they are ready to continue to dominate the Collegiate Judo tournament circuit in 2011! The annual Hoteikan System West Point Seminar date is set for April 16th. Stay tuned for further information.
 
C) L.I. Judo & Martial Arts Association: Shodai Soke Emilio Claudio, Shihan Gary Rasanen and Shihan Thomas Carrano will be part of a select group of masters conducting a Mixed Martial Arts Seminar & Grappling Tournament, hosted by United Studios, along with: L.I. Judo & Martial Arts Association & World Combat Arts Federation. The date is February 26, 2011. Location: United Studios PMA, 200 Wilson St. Port Jefferson Station, N.Y. 11776

Arizona:
A
) The Horizon Martial Arts Dojo in Phoenix, AZ has partnered with the Desert Warriors to conduct Hoteikan Workshops this year. Check the calender for event details!
 
B) Desert Warriors, AZ - The Hoteikan System San Do Ichi Ryu Jujutsu group will be conducting a "Jujutsu techniques revealed in Karate Kata" workshop on January 29,2011. It will be held at the Scottsdale Martial Arts Center. Admission is free for all Hoteikan members. For information call: 623-229-9532
 
South Dakota:
A
) The New Bushido Dojo in South Dakota is proud to announce in February 2011, they will be joining forces with Action Mixed Martial Arts Academy, the areas original and longest standing MMA academy. Sensei Brad Walker will be serving as the Head Judo Instructor and looking to spread the "Hoteikan Spirit".
