Hoteikan Blog Vol. 7 April 2011

Greetings to you all,
Well our preparations are just about complete for this year's annual Seminar at West Point. This will be our 8th overall year conducting the Hoteikan Seminar in April, and our 5th official event at the Academy. I am proud to say that we continue to improve every year and provide quality instruction and fantastic demonstrations by renown Masters in the Martial Arts. Be sure to join us this year and once you do you'll be hooked!
 
Other Hoteikan News:
1
) Please be sure to read the article on the website about the Army Judo team. As you know, they are coached by Soke Claudio and Shihan Morales. This year they made collegiate Judo history! Not only did they win their second consecutive Collegiate Championship, but they also won in both the advanced and novice division. Details of the event are on the front page of the website. Great job guys!
 
2) The Hoteikan Dojo competitors were triumphant at the recent AAU Karate tournament, bringing home many medals in both kumite and kata. Congratulations!
 
3) The Horizons Dojo in Phoenix, AZ. also did very well during the USKA Arizona State tournament in February. They will have several representatives competing at the Nationals in New Mexico in April. Best of luck guys!
 
4) The Desert Warriors of Arizona have officially expanded the Jujutsu program to include Juniors. We now have a beginners and advanced class as well as juniors and seniors in the program.
 
5) Soke Armstrong just completed his second workshop of the year. It was a session on grappling techniques for competition and self defense. Everyone had an awesome time. The next workshop is scheduled for May.
 
6) The New Bushido group in South Dakota will be conducting their 1st seminar on Saturday, June 18th, 2011. Special guest Instructor will be Grandmaster Santiago "Saint" Armstrong. Stay tuned for more information and seminar flyer.
