In Memory of
Senior Sensei William C. Morris
March 16, 1947 to March 9, 2007
From Shihan Armstrong (Saint):
I have known Sensei Bill Morris for 33 years. To this day, I remember the
first time I saw him at the American Karate & Judo Academy on 34th St.
He was always a big man but a gentle giant to those who knew him. He was a
great Judo player and always ready to help us with techniques. Sensei Bill
was always asking me how my family was, especially my sons who practically
grew up in the Dojo. We drifted apart for about 25 years as the Hoteikan Dojo
moved to Brooklyn and Then I moved to Arizona, but upon seeing him again back
in 2004, it was like old times again. We hugged each other and asked how things
were. The first thing he asked was how my boys are doing! He couldn't believe
that they were all grown up and in the service! His body had betrayed him
but, his heart was as big as ever!
I'll miss his smile, his gentle mannerism and his genuine concern for others. Bill, your journey through life has taken many twists and turns, some good and some challenging. Your earthly journey has ended my friend! Your new everlasting journey is with the greatest Sensei of all. I know that you are now with God and he smiles on you!
Here are some pictures and his Biography, celebrating his life in the Martial Arts & the Hoteikan System.
