The Hoteikan System had its N.Y. Spring Seminar on the weekend of April 28-29, 2006. It was hosted by the Hoteikan Dojo and Sensei Thomas Carrano. It was a great success! Click here to view photos. Here are some of the highlights of the weekend event.
On Friday, Soke Reno conducted a Black Belt only class. This class was a three-hour affair, with the Soke taking the black belts through intensive basic drills in the arts of Judo, Karate, boxing and Jujitsu. This was a rare “treat” where high-ranking black belts and Masters had the opportunity to be students and train hardcore. This was truly a test of the black belts' conditioning and will to survive. Everyone left the Dojo exhausted, but fulfilled with renewed confidence by completing the class. Once again, the Soke demonstrated to us why he is the Founder!
On Saturday, we had our open seminar and demonstrations at the Hans Christian Andersen Learning Center in Harlem. This event brought together students and instructors from six different schools in an atmosphere of sharing and experiencing new and different techniques.
Several of the Instructors were as follows:
Soke Reno Claudio – Judo & Jujutsu
Luis Ruperto – Ninjitsu
Cookie Melendez – Kick Boxing
Steve Borkowski – Shotokan Karate
Santiago Armstrong – Hoteikan Jujutsu
Isaac Cruz – Knife Fighting
