This summer finds the Brooklyn Dojo continuing to have success at the AAU Karate events. Senior Sensei Carrano and the Brooklyn Dojo continue to provide an invaluable service to the community offering awareness programs and seminars to the youth and parents of the area. Senior Sensei Jay Hager has started a Judo kata program at the Dojo. He continues to refine Kata and polish the techniques of the students.
The Desert Warriors from Arizona are hard at work getting ready for their 1st Advanced Concepts seminar for Black Belts, set for October. This Seminar will feature the connection between the different Martial Arts and a workshop on advanced Bunkai. There’s nothing quite like working out in 115 degree heat. WE LOVE IT!
On a sad note, the Pleasant Valley Dojo run by Sensei Paul has closed. Sensei Paul and his students are in the process of regrouping and looking for another space. I’m sure they will be back in action soon.
Soke Claudio continues to teach and coach at West Point. After a successful season of Judo competition with the West Point team, Sensei has lost several players to graduation. Our best wishes go with the graduates as they go and serve this great country of ours. Sensei is eagerly awaiting the new crop of cadets set to arrive for Judo tryouts.
Greetings to all the Hoteikan Members,
